Evan J Fry, DMD
Dr. Fry is a graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. Graduating at the top of his class, he was inducted into the national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He received numerous other awards in dental school, including the American Dental Education Association/GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Preventive Dentistry Scholarship, the Albert Schweitzer Public Health Fellowship, the Dr. Caswell A. Evans Dental Public Health Scholarship, the Lina Tharp Award, the Dr. Gerson Gould and Mr. Sol. H. Gould Memorial Scholarship, the Dr. William S. Kramer Award, the UIC Chancellor’s Student Service Award, and the UIC "Sparky D. Dragon" Customer Service Award.
In addition to practicing at La Grange Dental Studio, Dr. Fry is a member of the Faculty at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. He serves as a Clinical Instructor for the Inclusive Care Clinic, mentoring the next generation of dentists to care for patients with special healthcare needs.
Dr. Fry was selected as a Speaker on the Rise for the 2022 American Dental Association national convention in Houston, delivering a presentation on environmental sustainability in dentistry. He was also recognized nationally as the first runner-up in the 2020 American Dental Association's Health Literacy Essay Contest for his article regarding oral considerations of the human papillomavirus (HPV).
Dr. Fry served on the first medical and dental humanitarian team to Nicaragua following the global COVID-19 pandemic, providing emergency and preventive dental care in remote mountainous regions of the country. He regularly volunteers domestically as well, serving on the Board of Managers of the Chicago Dental Society Foundation Clinic in Wheaton and partnering with Dental Lifeline Network to provide pro-bono care at his practice.
Dr. Fry practices full-scope general dentistry, resulting in fewer referrals and delays in care. His professional areas of interest include working with patients on both ends of the age spectrum (elders and young children), oral surgery and dental implants, the environmental impact of dental materials, and prevention-focused dental interventions. His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
Aside from dentistry, Dr. Fry enjoys spending time with his young son, running marathons, scuba diving, attending opera and fine arts events, and playing board games. He attends Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elmhurst.
James M Maragos, DDS
Dr. Maragos received his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1981. He was then accepted into a one-year general dentistry residency at Loyola Hospital, where he learned advanced techniques in treating medically compromised patients and the use of sedation medications to relax the patient.
He taught at both the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry and Loyola School of Dentistry from 1982-1988 while practicing as an associate in dental offices in Oak Lawn and Chicago.
In 1987, he took over the practice of Dr. Don Ourada, DDS, and then established his own private practice in La Grange, Illinois.
